DescriptionThe MRI technologist works under the general supervision of the supervisor/Manager/Radiologist following established procedures/guidelines for the safe operation of the MRI scanner to obtain quality images
Adheres to policies and procedures for daily operations.
Works with the Magnetic Resonance Supervisor to ensure that the imaging standards are maintained.
Reviews MRI order for exam and indications and confirms scan protocol.
Performs venipuncture and administers IV contrast agents.
Screens patients for MRI safety and is responsible for proper positioning, coil placement and protocol selection.
Controls access to MRI zones.
Prepares and cleans equipment and scanner for each patient.
Performs daily QA on MRI scanner.

Must have graduated from an approved program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Must possess an Associate’s Degree.
Maintain a current ARRT registry in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging
New graduates must obtain ARRT registration within 1 year of hire.
