Nursing Professional Development Manager/Educator-Full time

Create and implement professional development programs to successfully onboard new nursing departmental staff, achieve excellence in patient outcomes, and enhance nursing professional practice for and the practice of nursing departmental staff.  Professional development programs and activities are aligned with and support Nursing Professional Development standards; BWFH Mission, Vision and Values; BWFH Strategic Goals and regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with the Nurse Director of the clinical areas in the review of Nurse Sensitive Indicators, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance metrics for the unit or division. Utilizes expertise in professional development to establish practice based improvement projects to achieve targeted performance measures; promotes evidence-based practice (EBP) and is accountable for the alignment of EBP and policy/practice standards. Serves as a highly visible leader and role model in the development/obtainment of hospital unit and division mission and goals.  Embraces the concept of change and lead staff through the change process as evidenced by adoption of new behaviors or processes and improved outcome measures.

Schedule: 40 hours, occasional weekend/evening programs

BSN and MSN required. Masters degree preferred. 3+ years of inpatient clinical nursing and professional development experience preferred. Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required. Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required. Certification as a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Instructor required. Certification in clinical or professional specialty preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Motivated and self-directed; ability to work independently and collaboratively. Accepting/supportive of rapid change process.
