Under the direction of the Laboratory’s Administrative Director, manages support services sections (Phlebotomy, Data Processing, Lab Support) and collaborates as needed with clinical services sections (Core Lab, Microbiology, and Blood Bank) of the Laboratory.
This position requires an individual who consistently demonstrates effective leadership, organization/planning and interpersonal skills and abilities. The manager acts as a technical resource for Medical, Nursing and Laboratory staff. The manager must have the necessary background to recognize problems, be proficient in problem solving, and have a thorough understanding of Quality Control procedures. They may be directly involved in writing SOP’s, training, QA evaluation and documentation. They assist in developing and modifying procedures and programs to ensure the consistent quality of our service. The Laboratory Operations Manager helps to develop and achieve section goals and objectives – short and long term. They are involved in implementing and following guidelines for compliance with accrediting agencies such as CMS and CAP. They are involved with Quality Assurance and Improvement procedures in their areas, and are directly involved with the daily operations of their area, delegating work and making schedule changes as needed. They attend/or participate in appropriate hospital and departmental meetings, committees and programs. They provide appropriate orientation to new employees, and current employees on new procedures on a timely basis. All required or assigned duties are performed.

- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a science from an accredited school required.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Must be CLIA eligible for high complexity testing
- ASCP certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a medical technologist required.
