DescriptionAn Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) Technician or Neurophysiology Technician uses specialized equipment to record and study a patient's brain waves and other electrical impulses of the nervous system.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities
2.Performs Electroencephalogram ((EEG) extended monitoring for one to several hours to include patients who are awake, sleeping , or in a coma
3.Performs EEG to evaluate cerebral death
4.Prepares patient and monitors for localized cerebral seizure focus by 16 or more channel telemetry, with video recording and interpretation
5.Prepares patients and monitors for localization of cerebral seizure focus by computerized portable 16 or more channel EEG
6.Performs other duties as assigned by the director of the department.
1.Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E. Standards
2.Knowledgeable of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system
3.Proficient in medical terminology related to the nervous system
4.Previous experience with neurophysiology methods and techniques
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with nurses, physicians
and manage difficult patients.
6.Basic computer and data entry skills
7.Experience with scoring EEG recordings
Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology
