Benefits and Beyond at BWFH

Medical/Dental/ Vision Plans

Choose from three medical plans to protect yourself and your family in the event of illness or injury:

  • Partners Select and Partners Plus: Pre-Tax Medical Plan (Allways Health Partners Health Plan) Out-of-Area plan available

    Two Point-of-Service (POS) plans that combines the freedom of an indemnity plan with the cost-effective, high-quality care of a managed care plan. You choose a primary care physician (PCP) who can provide treatment or refer you to an extensive network of physicians.

  • Allways Health Partners Health Plan and Tufts Total Health Plan (Post-Tax RN Only Plan)

    A managed care plan that gives you comprehensive coverage for many medical services. You choose a PCP from a large statewide network of providers to provide your medical care. Many services are 100% covered with a small co-pay. Out-of-network services are not covered, except for emergency care.

  • Prescription Drug Benefit

    Managed by CVS Caremark, this plan offers a convenient mail service program.

  • Two Delta Dental Plans

    A choice of plans provides employees the level of coverage that is right for your situation.

  • Davis Vision Plan

    Offers a cost-effective way for you to get an annual comprehensive eye exam and corrective lenses.

Insurance

  • Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance

    Available for financial protection in the event you cannot work due to an extended illness or injury.

  • Basic Group Life Insurance

    An amount equal to your annual salary will provide protection for your survivors.

  • Optional Group Term Life Insurance

    The option to elect Life Insurance for yourself, your spouse and/or dependent children.

  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

    The option to elect Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance for yourself, your spouse and/or dependent children.

Benefits Beyond Insurance

  • Tuition Reimbursement

    Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital encourages continued education and career growth by offering a tuition reimbursement program. Full-time employees are eligible to receive up to $2,500 per calendar year to pay for academic courses taken for credit at an accredited educational institution. This benefit is pro-rated for part-time employees who work 16 hours or more.

  • Subsidized MBTA Passes

    Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital offers a 50% subsidy on MBTA passes to employees who use public transportation.

  • BWFH Staff PERKS Program

    Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital offers a PERKS Program. The PERKS Program consists of a network of vendors in Boston and the surrounding area offering discounts on a wide variety of goods and services. With an ID badge, employees may receive discounts including mobile phones and cellular service, wholesale club memberships, car rental, and movie and museum passes. The discounts also include theater shows, certain concert performances, reduced rates on tickets to several amusement parks, and much more.

  • Two Flexible Spending Accounts

    Save tax dollars and reduce your out-of-pocket costs for health care and dependent day-care. Retirement Medical Savings Account (RMSA) Benefits-eligible employees age 50 or older can save for retirement medical expenses by contributing a certain amount from each paycheck – up to $4,500/year – toward a retirement medical savings account.

  • Retirement Plan

    At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, we believe our employees are our most valuable resource. We have designed a competitive and comprehensive retirement plan for our employees. The program offers our employees the benefits they need to build a secure retirement.Our retirement program combines a guaranteed core benefit for employees with a valuable pre-tax savings plan.

  • The program consists of:

    Employer-funded Cash Balance Retirement Plan : Your cash balance account is automatically funded by your employer, and will grow during your career through annual pay credits and interest credits.

    Voluntary Employee Tax-Sheltered Annuity Plan (TSA) : Tax-deferred savings opportunity through the 403(b) Tax-Sheltered Annuity Plan (TSA).This plan offers the chance to build valuable pre-tax savings and tax-deferred investment earnings through salary deductions.

  • How do I apply?

    Instructions for applying on a Desktop computer:

    Once you locate a position matching your qualifications and interests, click on the blue "Apply Now" button. You will be required to create an account and provide some information about yourself. Make sure to hit the 'submit' button at the end to complete the process.

    Instructions for applying on a mobile device:

    Once you locate a position matching your qualifications and interests click on the blue “Apply Now” button. Answer a few questions or import your profile from a social media account. Attach your resume if you have it available on your phone. You have the option to “Apply Later” if you do not have a resume available. At the end of the process you will be asked to set up an account before your application is completed.

  • How do I edit/view my profile?

    Instructions for applying on a mobile device:

    Once you've applied for a position, you do not have to re-apply to make changes. If you need to update personal information or preferences, you can update your profile. You can also edit information specific to a particular job submission. Follow the steps below:

    Editing a Profile

    1. Log into your Taleo Account.
    2. In the upper right corner, select the drop-down arrow next to your name (If you do not see your name, you are not logged in).
    3. Select "Profile." When the profile is complete, the summary page will appear. You have the option to “Edit” each sub section.

    Editing a Job Submission

    1. Log into your Taleo Account.
    2. Select "My Jobpage." It will default to the "My Submissions" tab.
    3. Select "View/Edit Submission" (If edit option is not available, the position is no longer accepting applications).
  • I'm currently employed with BWFH, how do I apply through Taleo?

    On the career site, you are able to filter jobs by criteria along the left-hand side of the page. (Search by organization, location, job field, job schedule, job shift or employee status).

    Complete the application. Note: A resume is not required, but highly recommended.

  • Do I need to create an account to apply for a position?

    Yes, you can feel free to browse anonymously; however, once you are ready to apply you will need to create an account.

  • Do I need a resume to apply?

    No; however, a resume is highly recommended with your application.

  • I have submitted my application. What happens next?

    Your resume will be reviewed by an HR representative/hiring manager. Depending on the type of position and the number of resumes received, this can take several weeks. If the hiring manager is interested in discussing your qualifications and experience further, an HR representative will contact you via email or by phone.

  • I've applied many times and never heard back. What does that mean?

    Some positions receive hundreds of applications. We would like to respond to every applicant personally; however, it's not always possible. You can log in to your account and check on the status of the job. Please continue to apply to positions that you are qualified for and interested in.

  • What documents should I provide besides my resume?

    Some positions require additional documentation as part of the application process. Please read the entire job description and attach any additional requested documents. If nothing else is indicated, then a resume is acceptable. A cover letter is not required; however, we welcome them if you would like to include one in your application.

  • Who do I contact if I have technical issues completing my application?

    You can contact our help desk at careers@partners.org for technical assistance. Please be aware, they cannot provide information on the status of your application, only technical assistance on completing the application.

  • How much time will it take to complete the application?

    It should take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete an application.

  • Do I have to apply online?

    Yes. All candidates must apply online in order to be considered for a position.

  • After I have applied, how do I contact the HR representative or hiring manager?

    Your resume will be reviewed by an HR representative/ hiring manager. Depending on the type of position and the number of resumes received, this can take several weeks. If the hiring manager is interested in discussing your qualifications and experience further, an HR representative will contact you via email or by phone. Some positions receive hundreds of applications. We would like to communicate with every applicant personally; however, it's not always possible.

  • How do I view a list of jobs to which I have applied or remove my job application?

    Within the account you created to apply to a position you can click on the "My JobPage" tab to see the jobs to which you have applied. From that tab you can withdraw your application entirely.

  • How do I know if my application was received?

    When you have completed your application, you will receive an emailing confirming your submission. Within your account, you can click on the "My Jobs" tab to see the jobs to which you have applied. We have received your application to any jobs visible in that tab.

  • Why have I been asked to supply additional information after applying for a job?

    This means you are moving along in the recruitment process. Periodically through the hiring process, we will need additional information from you. Please follow any directions you receive and any specific questions can be addressed to the HR representative.

  • How many people will I meet with during my interview?

    Typically, you will meet with an HR representative and hiring manager. Occasionally you may meet with 2 or 3 people, depending on the hiring manager. Most interviews will take place in person.

  • How long will my interview last?

    A typical interview lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.

  • Where will my interview be held?

    Your interview will take place at BWFH. If you have any questions, please reach out to the HR representative that coordinated the interview for you.

  • Do you perform background checks?

    Yes. All BWFH employees must also pass a background check prior to beginning work. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check. You will not be automatically disqualified if you have a conviction on your record; all screens are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
